I’ve been using Writer’s Market, the book designed to help writers sell their words, since the early 90’s. This is a book worth its weight in gold. It offers writers a complete reference guide for their special ideas and philosophies. It encourages, instructs and gives the most unreasonable thoughts a reason. Writer’s Market truly is a godsend.
When I decided that following Jesus was the most important thing I could do, I started buying Christian Writer’s Market and I just recently began buying this book for my kindle. I have a Christian Writer’s Market for 2025 that I consult with regularly. It is a reference book, but even more, it is a book that offers me the chance to seek out just that perfect place to submit my words.
When I first submitted my work, in the early 90’s, it was Writer’s Market that told me where to submit. And, amazingly, I found success using Writer’s Market that I would likely have never found without this wonderful tool. The Writer’s Market led me to having my words published by places like Blue Mountain Arts (SPS Studios) out of Boulder, CO., True Love, True Romance, Our State Magazine and others. I was a young writer with a dream and Writer’s Market helped me to make that dream a reality.
And, now – I have five published books and am working on others. I still don’t earn enough to quit my day job, but I feel like I’m reaching others for Jesus and that is the really important thing for me!
Now that I spend the majority of my writing time on writing for Jesus, I have found so many encouragements in the Christian Writer’s Market. It is a book that offers advice, reassurance and inspiration. If there ever comes a time when I can’t think of what to write, all I would need to do is search the pages of Writer’s Market and I know I’ll find stirrings in my heart for the next poem, the next essay, the next devotional. The Christian Writer’s Market offers all this and more.

One of the biggest mistakes a writer can make is to ignore the guidelines of an agent, an editor, or a publishing house. In the past, some publications dropped their listings in this guide because writers failed to follow the instructions in it. Editors are looking for writers who understand their periodicals or publishing houses and their unique approaches to the marketplace. This book will help you be such a writer. With a little time and effort, you can meet an editor’s expectations, distinguish yourself as a professional, and sell what you write.

If I could offer any suggestion to Christian Writers, first I would say – consult with the Holy Spirit. After that, I would say consult with Christian Writer’s Market. After that, I would say you have all you need to successfully publish your first piece. God bless you as you seek. Don’t give up and keep on believing. God has a plan for you and me!
NOTE:
Whether performed during Easter or Christmas, Messiah, with its powerful “Hallelujah Chorus,” has unquestionably been used as a means to evangelize and spread the gospel to a wide audience. Moreover, the message of Messiah has served as a source of inspiration for millions of people, compelling them to donate to those in need, all in the name of Christ. Most composers from that era never expected their music would endure beyond their lifetime. Handel’s Messiah is certainly the outlier, being perhaps the oldest continuously performed composition from any composer. Yet George Frideric Handel refused to take the credit. In a beautiful gesture, at the end of Messiah, Handel paid homage to his faith by including the letters “SDG” for Soli Deo Gloria, which means “To God Alone the Glory.”

In closing, SDG!!!
