The Forge
If you love Christian stories, you won't want to miss this one
Cynthia Wright is a hardworking, loving and tender wife to her irresponsible and unavailable husband. She works long hours to support her small family of three. Isaiah, her young son, doesn’t understand why when Cynthia’s husband leaves the family for another woman. When the time comes, Isaiah’s deep contempt for his father will show itself.
Still, as Isaiah grows into a strong-willed teenager, his mother becomes more and more concerned with his habits. Habits that are a little too much like the habits that wore on her nerves when his father lived with them. She is truly worried when Isaiah seems more than a little neglectful of his chores and his attitude toward her becomes less than respectful. He IS a teenager, but his mother wants more for him and from him. She wants to see him succeed in ways that she knows his father never will. And, more than anything, she wants him to know Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She knows that meeting with the Savior will change whatever self-destructive tendencies are warring away inside Isaiah.
Time and temptation leave Isaiah uncertain and unnerved. He is surprised to be welcomed into the fold where he makes his way in his first job at a factory. He’s given respect and he is finally learning what it means to respect others. He is also given his opportunity to meet the One who created Him and gave Him love that is undeniable and incredible. It is a love that is wonderful beyond words.
This is the story of stories. It starts out with a million questions, from each of the characters. But what you find in the end is a startling story of growth, inspiration and grace. This is a story that everyone, not just Christians, will find a reason to love.
Chris Fabry wrote this incredible story. He is also the author of War Room, Overcomer and A Piece of the Moon. He is certainly a author who knows what it means to be a Christian and offer a Christian perspective that stirs the spirit and reminds us that the love of Jesus is still alive and present. His story is tender, impressive and amazing. Though it isn’t as worthy of praise as the Savior Himself, this story is worthy of praising.
If you never read another Christian book, read The Forge. I know you’ll be glad you did!!!
“When we follow Jesus and devote ourselves to Him,” Joshua continued, “He bears fruit through us that gives God glory. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. That’s what He wants us to do. That’s the kind of man I wanna be.”

I haven’t read the book but we came across it on some streaming service a couple months ago. So good! Grateful for solid Christian value content being created. ❤️
Regina! Before Substack blocked me for a week I had a similar post on this exact book called “What the Forge Means to me”! I am so happy that you also enjoyed it! 😀
